  - Note about Newton: Worked as a farmer (horse farm?) in Nova Scotia. Immigrated to New York with his family in 1902, apparently not on good terms with Shaw relatives left in Nova Scotia. Once in New York, he worked for Fulton Fish market, peddling fish from a horse drawn wagon. Following the death of Florence in 1913, the children remaining at home were split up and sent to live with sundry Cochrane relatives in New York and Massachusetts. Theodore and James were probably on their own by then. According to Virginia Shaw, Newton went out west somewhere. Her father Philip received word of Newton's passing during the late 1930's or early 1940's.
