Florence E. Rowe

BEDFORD - Mrs. Florence E. "Betty" (Shaw) Rowe, 61, of 22 Seabee St., died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1982 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Manchester following a sudden illness. Mrs. Rowe was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Jan. 26, 1921, the daughter of Harold "Newt" and Agnes E. (Carlisle) Shaw, and was a resident of Bedford for the past 33 years. She was a WAC Corporal during World War II, serving in Italy. She was a homemaker, devoted wife and mother as well as a friend to many in AA. Members of her family include her husband, Vernon G. Rowe Sr. of Bedford; two sons, Vernon G. Rowe, Jr. of Derry and Albert N. Rowe of Manchester, Connecticut; two daughters, Nancy A. Shepard of Hooksett and Nina E. Rowe of Bedford; a brother, Robert Shaw of Chardon, Ohio; two grandchildren; and cousins.


Albert W. Gable

DAVENPORT - Albert W. Gable, 86, of Davenport died Saturday, Nov. 9, 1991 at Davenport Lutheran Home. Mr. Gable worked as a foundry superintendent at Davenport Machine and Foundry. He retired in 1968. He married Estella Cruys Rowe in 1938 in Davenport. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Evamae (Mrs. Alan) Buenga, Davenport; a son, Vernon G. Rowe, Bedford, NH; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Bessie Zink, Mt. Carroll, Illinois; two brothers, Charles and Glen, both of Savanna, Illinois.


Estella C. Gable

DAVENPORT - Estella C. (Cruys) Gable, 95, formerly of 725 Fillmore St., Davenport, died Friday July 30, 1993 at Davenport Lutheran Home. Mrs. Gable was employed at the former Petersen Harned Von Maur department store. Estella Cruys Rowe married Albert Gable in 1938 in Davenport, Iowa. He died in 1991. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport. Survivors include a daughter, Evamae (Mrs. Alan) Buenga, Davenport; a son, Vernon Rowe, Bedford, NH; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


Mabel M. Rowe

BEDFORD - Mabel M. (Drescher) Anderson Rowe, 74, of 22 Seabee St., died Dec. 6, 1995, at Elliot Hospital in Manchester after a short illness. Born Feb. 6, 1921 in Concord, she was the daughter of John and Bridget (Leonard) Drescher. A 1938 graduate of Concord High School, she was office manager at Grappone Pontiac for many years. She was the widow of Leon W. Anderson and is survived by her husband, Vernon G. Rowe of Bedford. The family includes three sons, Lawrence Boynton Jr. of Canterbury, Vernon G. Rowe Jr. of Derry and Albert N. Rowe of Willington, Connecticut; four daughters, Susan Manning of Epsom, Merilyn Garcilaso of Oceanside, California, Nancy Shepard of Bow, and Nina Duval of Goffstown; several grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother, Albert Drescher of Contoocook; nieces and nephews.


Alan "Red" Buenga

DAVENPORT - Alan G. "Red" Buenga, 71, of Davenport, died Thursday, July 25, 1996 at his home. Mr. Buenga was born Sept. 6, 1924 in Davenport. He married Evamae Rowe Morrell in 1953 in Davenport. He retired in 1979 after 33 years as a shipping supervisor at the Rock Island Arsenal. He served in the Navy during World War II in the submarine corps. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Anita Rubley of Davenport; nieces and nephews.


Vernon G. Rowe Sr.

BEDFORD - Vernon G. Rowe Sr., 80, died Sept. 5, 2000 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester. He was born in Davenport, Iowa, June 21, 1920, the son of McKinley and Estella (Cruys) Rowe and the stepson of Albert W. Gable. He resided in Bedford for the past 52 years. He served in the Army during World War II in the North African and Italian campaigns. He worked most of his life in the trucking industry and retired as a dispatcher for the Bedford Police Department. He was an active member and sponsor of Manchester-Derry area Alcoholics Anonymous chapters for 28 1/2 years. He was predeceased by his first wife, Florence "Betty" Shaw Rowe and his second wife, Mabel Anderson Rowe. The family includes two sons, Vernon Rowe Jr. of Derry and Albert Rowe of Willington, Connecticut; two daughters, Nancy Shepard of Bow and Nina Duval of Goffstown; six grandchildren; and a sister, Evamae Buenga of Davenport, Iowa; as well as many dear friends in AA.
